Shea Fowler, M.A.

At 18, Fowler relocated to Nashville after signing a publishing deal on Music Row. Following more than 20 years as a performer, she transitioned to behind-the-scenes roles, after discovering a passion for developing and advocating for other creatives. Upon graduating from Belmont, she was promoted from intern to full-time in the A&R department at Big Machine Label Group, launching a multifaceted career spanning A&R, music publishing, artist management, and music technology.

Throughout her career, Fowler has worked with artists including Taylor Swift, Thomas Rhett, and Reba McEntire, as well as Country Music Hall of Fame and GRAMMY®-winning songwriters such as Brett James and Caitlyn Smith. As an executive at a music tech startup, she developed innovative fan engagement campaigns for Imagine Dragons, Miranda Lambert, and Spotify, bridging strategy, storytelling, and emerging platforms.

Fowler also created and produced a short film, “All the Way to Tacoma”, that screened at the Nashville Film Festival, merging her background in film with her work in music.

She currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at Belmont University, where she developed and teaches the Women in Entertainment course, and teaches Music Publishing each spring for the University of New Haven’s Nashville Study Away Program at Blackbird Studio.

Fowler resides in the town she just can’t seem to quit, Nashville, Tennessee, with her son, Wilder, and their two dogs, Scout and Neptune. When not working with artists or in the classroom, she enjoys traveling, reading, and treasure hunting at estate sales.
