About Nandan
Nandan Shetty joined the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2023. He received his PhD and MS degrees in Civil Engineering from Columbia University, and his BE in Environmental Engineering from Dartmouth College. During his PhD, he worked with the New York City Parks department to design and launch the city's pilot rain gardens, now a billion-dollar program. Dr. Shetty researches green infrastructure, including street trees, rain gardens and roof gardens. He also worked as an environmental engineer for the New York City Parks Department on the planning, design, construction, and research of green infrastructure for eleven years.
