About Hania

Hania Rida is a Practitioner in Residence at the University of New Haven, where she also serves as the Departmental Seminar Coordinator for the Chemistry and Chemical & Biomedical Engineering department, at the Tagliatela College of Engineering. She is currently teaching General Chemistry-I and its lab course. Dr. Rida previously served as an adjunct faculty member in the same department, teaching Instrumental Methods (Spring 2023).

Dr. Rida holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Lorraine University, Nancy - France, in 2011, where her research focused on graphite-lithium-europium and graphite-lithium-calcium systems, leading to several publications in peer-reviewed renowned journals such as Carbon.

She later worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the “Laboratoire Environnement et Minéralurgie” at the National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine, in Nancy - France, her research focuses on iron-clay reactivity for the underground disposal of radioactive waste in collaboration with ANDRA, France’s National Agency for Radioactive Waste Management.
