About George
Before retiring from the University of New Haven, Dr. Wheeler was the Jacob Finley
Buckman Professor of Chemistry and Chemical
Engineering. Before his time at the University of New Haven, he conducted extensive
physical chemistry and molecular research at the Sterling Chemistry Laboratory at Yale University and the Yale University School of Medicine.
He co-authored definitive structural papers regarding crystal lattices and molecular physics, such as his heavily-cited research (1978) on polymorphic p-dichlorobenzene and chemical structures like 10-(N-Methylamino)benz[f]azulene.
