About Brian
I try to bring significant and broad experience to our program, including prior collegiate teaching experience. I have served as Special Assistant, Legal and Economic Advisor to The Honorable Robert Davis, a President Reagan appointee at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, an attorney in private practice, and in various senior executive positions such as Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and General Counsel for domestic and international technology firms. Currently, I serve as an Administrative and Regulatory Affairs officer for a software publisher involved in information security and encryption, and provide information technology, security, and privacy related services. I have recognized industry expertise in the areas of administrative and financial operations, compliance and data privacy, corporate law and governance, licensing of intellectual property.
I earned my Doctorate of Law (J.D.) and Doctorate in Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Arts from Union College where I was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Epsilon (the Economic Honor Society). I hold a license from the District of Columbia. My research interests include: corporate governance and the entrepreneurial enterprise; applications of game theory; and political economy; and, in each instance, all from a multi-disciplinary perspective. In May, 2012, I published A Model of Judicial Influence on Congressional Policymaking in the Journal of Law, Economics and Organization.
